Church of Santa Eulalia

Nestled in a rural setting steeped in history

Built in 1903, the Church of Santa Eulalia de Valdoviño is an outstanding example of the historicist style, with elements reminiscent of medieval architecture. Its Latin cross floor plan and imposing bell tower make it both a spiritual and architectural landmark in the area.

The church has a main façade decorated with pilasters and an elegant mid-point arch that marks the entrance door. Above it, a furnace houses the image of St Eulalia, the church's patron saint, while a small oculus and the bell tower add verticality to the whole. This tower, resting on a square base, houses the bell towers and reinforces the solid and massive character of the building.

Inside, the lateral bodies flanking the presbytery act as sanctuaries, reinforcing the temple's functionality. Every December, during the patronal festivals, the church becomes the centre of religious life in Valdoviño.
